This mission is scheduled to launch in 2024 and will visit the two Martian moons named Phobos and Deimos. The scientists plan to research things like the terrain of the moons, their dust, changes in data from past missions, gravity fields, minerals, gases, and more. Florida Abortion Ban

https://apnews.com/article/florida-abortion-ban-approved-c9c53311a0b2426adc4b8d0b463edad1# This week in Florida, Governor Ron DeSantis signed into law a bill to ban abortions after six weeks of pregnancy. This ban will only take effect if the state’s current 15-week ban is upheld in a challenge before the Supreme Court, which is controlled by conservatives. Representative Jenna Persons-Mulicka stated that, “this is an opportunity to lead the national debate about the importance of protecting life and giving every child the opportunity to be born and find his or her purpose”. One of the biggest controversies over abortion bans is the right to terminate a pregnancy brought about by rape or incest. This law contains exceptions including, no other choice to save the woman’s life, and an abortion involving rape or incest would be allowed until 15 weeks of pregnancy, provided a woman has documentation such as a restraining order or police report.  https://www.politico.com/news/2023/03/12/r

Planet alignment: what time is it, what does it look like and where to see the planetary parade tonight (msn.com) When you looked up at the night sky this week did you see what appeared to be a line of stars? Well, if you did, those "stars" were actually five of the planets in our Solar System. Rare Cosmic Event: Here's When And How You Can Watch The Unique Alignment Of These 5 Planets In India (jagran.com) On Monday, March 27, 2023, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn appeared in the night sky in a very rare alignment. An alignment of this many planets does not happen very often so if you were one of ones who noticed this, consider yourself lucky. The last time something like this happened was in December of 2022. but with only four planets.  Oliver Povey with AS USA stated that the best way to view this rare occasion was to find a dark location with a clear view of the horizon and to observe the event during the pre-dawn or post-sunset hours. It is no secret that

Or maybe an appearance that may cause those looking at it to do a double-take? Well if this describes your dog then you can register now for the World’s Ugliest Dog contest in California happening June 2023.  https://www.upi.com/Odd_News/2023/02/28/Worlds-Ugliest-Dog-contest-accepting-applications/9171677609998/ Now, I’m certainly a dog lover but I’m not sure you would catch me at a competition for dog-owners battling for the ugliest dog. Ben Hopper with UPI News explains that this contest is to raise money for rescue shelters and dog adoption. Fundraising and awareness for dogs that need a fur-ever home is always a good deed, but celebrating dogs’ ill-favored characteristics is quite a way to go about it.  The event center CEO of this contest describes the competing dogs with words like “imperfect”, say

Not much goes on in the little town bordering Jonesboro, but the athletics at Brookland High School in Brookland, Arkansas are expanding and beginning to make quite the name for themselves.  Brookland sends athletes to the collegiate level almost every year, as well as adding new sports facilities every few years - the most recent being their Bearcat Arena . Crystal Reynolds, mother of 4 student-athletes that have attended/are attending Brookland Public Schools, gave me her personal insight on this small town she calls home.  Logo:  https://www.hudl.com/team/v2/82932 Mrs. Reynolds has lived in Brookland for 24 years and has been involved with Brookland Schools (and their sports) for 18 of those years. She stated she has 2 alumni (both student-athletes) and has 2 attendees of the school right now. Mrs. Reynolds affirmed my point of the sports at BHS growing and making more progress each year. She said, “I love to see this district, that didn’t even have a proper football field when I mo

https://blogs.nasa.gov/planetarydefense/2023/02/15/remembering-the-chelyabinsk-impact-10-years-ago-and-looking-to-the-future/  February 15, 2023 marked the 10-year anniversary of a galactic object colliding with Earth’s surface. NASA has spent this week remembering the day that a “house-sized asteroid” met Russian soil and caused great devastation for miles. This enormous asteroid impacted the surface of Earth in Russia at a speed of 11 miles per second (39,600 miles per hour) and exploded just 14 miles above the ground. NASA stated that the explosion was equivalent to that of almost half-a-million tons of TNT. The explosion resulted in busted windows and damaged buildings for over 200 square miles and injured over 1,600 people.  Asteroid “Chelyabinsk 2013” explodes over the city of Chelyabinsk, Russia on February 15, 2013.
