Life on Mars?

Research of life on Mars is expanding and bringing in new discoveries every year. Almost 3 decades ago, NASA scientists made an announcement saying that they had found evidence of life on Mars. Now before you begin to think that aliens are living in our universe, this life that they claim they found is not exactly what first comes to our minds when we think of life.

In this short 1-minute interview with NASA Astrobiologist Heather Graham, she explains that bacterial life is assumed to be found on Mars. As technology and resources advance, research is expanding as well going back in time to old research and correcting it.

Scientists with “The Case for Life on Mars”, go back to old research to compare what was found on Mars years ago to what is found now. In the 90’s, one scientist believed that Martians inhabited Mars - creatures of Mars similar to humans in terms of language and civilization. Today, this is a little dramatic because the life that is found now is considered bacterial and “microbial life similar to that on Earth”. Evidence of human-like creatures is slim to none despite the beliefs of some.

All in all, next to Earth, Mars is factually the most-likely planet to contain life in the solar system. Missions, like those described in “Life on Mars” by Jim Bell, are focused on comparing Mars-findings to what we have on Earth and what we see in the moon, comets, asteroids, etc. Do you believe human-like creatures inhabit the planet of Mars or is it simply just bacteria? Although Mars has the ingredients to produce life, to what extent do you believe this “life” goes to?
